Blower motor resistor. Located on the passenger side, beneath the glove box. Connecting usually is the cause. Attached is a link to what I installed on my 2000 F150 last week. Came with connecting harness. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Blower-Motor-Resistor-Ford-Mustang-Expedition-Excursion-Lincoln-Navigator-/361982893356?fits=Year%3A2000%7CMake%3AFord&epid=889708241&hash=item5447dc9d2c:g:5JAAAOSwAPVZKIDE&vxp=mtr

YouTube.com - replacing ford blower motor resistor. It's literally two screws holding it on and a plug to connect. Used but connectors to attach a new plug if the wires are not staying tight in the old plug.
