1993 Lincoln Towncar driver door wont lock

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So ive removed the door panel and have gained access to the latch mechanisms,
however i havent figured out what the exact problem is. The physical lever that locks
the latch cannot be pushed to lock position, its as tho its stuck or obstructed by
something. I can see the lock lever from the latch pov outside the door on the side, its
right in front of the interior door handle lever (so it unlocks automatically whenever the
door is opened from the inside). The lock lever should go up and down, but all i get is
very slight movement. Any related suggestions or advise is always appreciated guys!

Turns out the Door Lock Actuator was to blame. The little gears in the motor sieved, so i replaced it with one from a similar year towncar from PnP, and whoala, works like a charm,
