Hear noise coming from fan blade at times, tapping the gas sometimes will stop the noise

Question type: General

at times there is a noise coming from the fan blade area, by increasing the idle speed and
letting the engine speed idle will cause the noise to go away. Also at the time of the noise
there is a slight vibration. Could that be a clutch problem?

Good advice Tom. I would also inspect the pulleys and belt while you are there.

Tom, as you suggested, I went out and checked the blade, you can turn the blade as many times as you want with the engine off, it does not stop after a full revolution. Should the clutch be replaced? also just for info the engine has only 31,000 miles on it. thanks

There is a water pump bolted to the engine and the fan blade is bolted to it. Do you think it could be the water pump? Thanks Herbert
