Start at blue book, then you'll have room to barter.

I'd start a little above Blue Book mrmoomey..who knows there may be somebody been looking for that specific car and will jump on the full asking price..never know

Found 1998 A4 Quattro 2.8L V6 ~~$3,316 TMV So, shiock list it at about, say, $3,650 THEN see if anybody bites. That would be about the highest I would put don't want to scare folks away and dismiss your listing because it's so high

Detail the car, take a bunch of pictures, set a reasonable price and advertise it on Audizine.com and Audiworld.com. Both are active sites with thousands of members.
