2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee heat issue

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok as a person who has worked on vehicles my
whole life, I am completely stumped. My 2005
Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 V8 will warm the
engine and coolant as it should, but until I drive a
short distance (maybe a block or so) it will not
blow warm air in the cabin. Radiator hoses top and
bottom are warm and hoses to heater core are
warm. But until I actually drive it will not heat
inside. After I drive everything works as it should;
defrost, climate control, etc.  Anyone have an
idea??? Thanks

I checked and rechecked everything I could think of involving the actual cooling system. It all seems to be operating correctly. That being said I am obviously missing something ha ha

I just started having this problem with my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I always start it to warm up and defrost the windshield but this week the air blowing stays cold until I drive about 2 or 3 houses down. I'm wondering if it's related to a problem with the actuator which has been clicking a long time or thermostat though the engine temp is as it should be according to the gauge. So this is not an answer but just a comment.
