2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Driver Front Window Won't Roll Up

Asked by tjmiller Sep 13, 2016 at 04:35 PM about the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I rolled down the driver's window and now it won't come back up. If I push
the up button on the door, I hear nothing. If I push the down button, I hear
it "engage." Then if I push the up button again, I can hear it "engage" but
the window doesn't come up.

Does this sound like the regulator? Or something else? What can I check?

And please, be as specific as possible. For example, if you tell my I should
check _________, then could you also tell me where I look to check
________?

Not very mechanically inclined here, but can follow instructions!

If it were the switch, wouldn't that cause the master controls on the drivers door to not work? So far it is only the driver's window that won't come up. Other windows and the locks work fine.
