Asked by msecat Jul 04, 2011 at 12:26 AM about the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I recently had to replace my windsheild, they claimed it would be the same, but its not. It had a much darker tint and a grid pattern behind the rearview mirror. I have have searched the internet but havent had any luck finding it. Is there anyone who can help me with this, I miss it and want it back.

what you have is a aftermarket windshield, that is why it is not as dark,as for putting the darker tint,in most states it is illegal to tint the windshield.onley way to have it tinted legal is to have your eye doctor verify by document that it is nesseary to have it,he has a copie ,you have a copie.and have to keep in vehicle at all times.thing is,you have to be 40 % blind to get it.

Windshields have marks on them (required by the DOT) and darker tinting is permited above that level. Below that level a different regalation applies. A good tint shop can advise you.
