Why would I get vibration starting around 35-40 mph when I install my front drive shaft, to operate the 4wd, onto my 2001 jeep grand Cherokee larado?

I have the exact same problem with my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 Loredo. Not sure if my "usual" mechanic (who sold me the car a little over a year ago) has tried what you suggested yet. But there's no doubt that the noise goes away when the front drive shaft is removed. Another mechanic has said they think the noise is coming from the transfer case and it could end up being a very expensive repair job. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed cuz I can't spend more money on this vehicle to keep it going. :-(
