are the parts for a 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited inexpensive

They're not the cheapest but they're not the most expensive either. Cheapest parts belong to fleet vehicles, namely Ford or Chevys. Expensive parts belong to foreign imports and "status" vehicles. You're in between those two.
They're dirt-cheap compared to Jaguar, Mercedes and BMW parts.
I am thinking of buying a 2002 jeep grand Cherokee , that or a 2005 what do you think is better 2002 or 2005
Depends on your intended use, overall condition, engine, lots of factors. The '02 4x4 has a solid front axle, and if you want to go off- road, that is definitely superior. The independent front axle on an '05 will give a better highway ride - ALL OTHER FACTORS BEING EQUAl, which they seldom are. 6-cylinders give better gas mileage, V8s have better performance and usually betterr towing capacity. And so on...
does a 6 or 8 cylinder waste more gas as suppose to a 4cylinder which waste less gas
