2000 grand cherokee limited 4WD

2000 grand cherokee limited 4x4. put into park and heard a POP.  i then drove it home after the POP and hear a clinking noise coming from the front. any ideas?

It could be associated with your serpentine belt and or pulleys or something completely different. With the Jeep engine running in park, open the hood to inspect.
