why my car overheats when idling or running slow

My car was overheating and it was one of my fans was not working corectly,( sometimes turn on and sometimes i have to hit it to turn on) After remplased my car stop overheat. But it can be (radiator cap). Check if your fan turn on corect if doesn't turn on u can test it with ur battery if the fan turn on with the battery it gonna be the (temperature censor) or u can check if u have any blow fuse
