Asked by Jawvcw Oct 16, 2017 at 01:17 PM about the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I spilled oil down where oil cap is while filling. I
sprayed it off with water hose once I noticed. I'm
just making sure it is ok. No oil got on the motor.

you should start it up and let the engine get warm , what works good on engines is industrial "purple" water based and won't stink for weeks on end like gunk does

If you spilled oil on the engine the worst that will happen is some will get on the exhaust and it will smoke until it burns off.
