You will save yourself a ton of headaches and a ton of money by starting off with a Jeep that already comes with a Hemi. The Hemi was first available in the 2005 Grand Cherokee. Too many guys cram an engine when it doesn't belong only to find they can't make it run due to a mismatched ECM and the engine. The Hemi will have 100 horsepower more than the 4.7 you have now. And I believe the 2005 and newer Hemi Jeeps were the Limited models which also had the Quadra-Drive system that gives you limited slip diffs on both axles. That's what you want for off road fun.

^^^ WRONG INFO... a 99 Jeep would have either a 5.2L or a 5.9L (Jeep Limited). The 4.7L wasn't released until 2000. Also, there are kits to make a 5.7L worth with his Jeep setup.

i'm not so sure about that. My 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee also has the 4.7 liter with a manufacture date of 2/99 on the door tag

Is there a website for the kit to do a 5.7hemi swap on a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo I’ve looked into the swap but I can’t find anything
