if it does it when idling, you need to clean your idle air control valve. if it does it at random whether on the gas or not, might be your computer

I'm having the same issue with my 2004 all wheel drive Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition. The issue started last week and happened again today. While i'm driving it just coasts to a stop while it's coasting down the steering wheel locks up but the breaks are fully functional throughout the process. Both times it happened I tapped on the gas pedal and there was no reaction. The speedometer and tachometer both read zero everything else was reading normal so I threw it into park shut it off and started it back up and it worked fine. The check gauges light came on as soon as it started coasting down to a complete stop. I just had an oil change done after it happened the first time. Any ideas on what would cause this to happen?

Five years ago I had the crankcase sensor replaced and no problems...until two years ago. It would not recognize the key. I had the skim replaced. No problems ...until this year, won't recognize the key gain! Time for a new vehicle!

Computer is your best bet because it can be giving false signals. Any problem after replacing it wont cost as much
