1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.7

Asked by GuruSRHK4 Jun 12, 2019 at 08:39 PM about the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Jeep starts and as soon as it starts the engine
cuts off. I still have full electic. Meaning windows
roll down, radio on, etc. This has happened 3 times
in the last week. It always happens after it's been
parked very briefly and is still hot.  Nothing has
been done to it, it just randomly starts after sitting
for a while (hours).

The key that can open your doors has no chip in it so it is inexpensive to have a duplicate made of it".... It can turn on your ignition switch for power to Windows etc. but cannot run the engine for more than 2-3 seconds....there is no chip in the key...... The key with chip is a dealer purchase and requires programming, $$$ (same as your remote unit)
