Most parts will not swap between years 1998 and 2001. From 1992-1998 was one generation of Jeep, and 1999-2004 was the next. Big design changes were made form one generation to the next.

The door latch is broken and the housing around it is broken around the star head bolts. Door will not close and latch at all anymore. A new door is the only solution.
