Asked by CarNoob96 Nov 01, 2016 at 06:15 AM about the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

it sat for 2 years and i'll turn it on from time to time but now i started driving it again and now it would sometimes turn off while driving (with the engine sometimes sputtering/stalling) and I could either turn it back on in a few minutes or it sometimes takes a few days to turn on. I dont know much about cars but im trying to learn but i cant just figure this out

This may be a fuel related problem. If the vehicle sat for a long time, there cold be moisture in the fuel system causing the sputtering/stalling. Other possibilities could include crack (dry rotted) fuel lines or maybe a bad fuel pump. Difficult to tell for sure on such little information.
