Help fix my trunk

I own 1996 Grand Cherokee limited 5.2 V8,
issue is I have to push extra hard under the
trunk handleand pull the handle at the same
time to open it, any ideas to help fix it?

the latch probably needs to be lubricated. I would use white lithium grease, it will last longer than wd-40. if that doesn't do it, you may need the adjust the latch itself. it might have gotten loose and moved.
