1999 audi a4 1.8t.. check engine light is on. Sounds like a tapping coming from right on top of my air box or inside it. Please help!!!

that's probably the air control valve. there is a little motor like thing that is connected to a vacuum line its most likely the thing ticking it usually means it needs to be replaced.
Okay so my fiance tore apart the airbox today and the part with the 2 connection ports directly on top of the air box, the rubber gasket that hold it in place is all worped and torn!!! What exactly is it? Today after putting everything back together it almost felt like it wanted to stall. When i accelerated it wiuldnt really go anywhere for a sec an then it would be fine. Day before this i stalled at a stop sign!?! Wtf is goin on.

They at this age have a tendency to start sticking and usually need replacing please be sure to read my posts
