Hyundai Santa Fe valve cover gasket replaced, now AC not working.

Asked by DragonClaw Apr 07, 2014 at 07:55 PM about the 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7L LX FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently had both valve cover gaskets replaced.  Now AC not working.  Could they be related?  When turning on AC, button light comes on, but I do not feel the AC pull power or "tug" on the engine.  This was always quite noticeable before.  Should I go back to the mechanic that replaced the gasket? Did they forget something? Do something wrong?

It's possible that the mechanic didn't reconnect the A/C compressor, or its not on tight. Take it back and have him take a look. Should be an easy fix.
