i have a 2001 audi a6 starting to tick in the engine and smoke out the exchust

the ticking is the lack of oil in the heads for the valves. This is commonly because the oil pump has not gotten enough oil up there. Tho this also happens in the higher mileage audis from lifters getting sticky. I fixed mine with some full syntheic slick 50 high mileage forumla for a short time before an oil change. but if im right the a6 was always more problems then the a4's
