That all depends on how much money you want to put into it. I would go with a new K03 with some bigger injectors and a chip. If you are at all handy you could do the entire upgrade and give yourself an extra 60-80hp for under $1000. If you wanted to go nuts then go nuts. You could always just find a used turbo at a junk yard for probably around $150.

sounds good, what kind of injectors and chip would u suggest? and where can i get it from? i bought the ko3 turbo.

The turbo should not have any oil coming out of it as everything it does is to do with air..... if there is oil in the air system then your engine has an oil leak

You wont make 40 over stock with a Ko3 is not going to happen at all. You can go get a Ko4-23 with all the other parts and get 60-80, but the ko3 will flow about 180hp max, and is shouldnt be any where near 1000 for that you could make far more then 80 more hp. Drop in the k03 and drive that one till it dies, then start looking around on vwvortex.com you will find answers to your questions.
