Car not starting

Hi I have a 02 Audi a4 3.0 the car can drive and
star it's only once in awhile it's running you park it
then when you come back to it doesn't want to
start it just cranks and cranks if you leave for a
few minutes it will start but while you are cranking  
it you can smell the gas but it doesn't start it only
does it sometimes I also when I turn the
headlights on all the warning signs appear on my
Dash to see if you guys have any idea and give me
some advice thank you

Your complicated, unreliable Audi needs an expensive Audi specialist- get it running and SELL IT- your motivation will come from the pain of the repair bill-
