Flashing Fuel Pump Symbol

Asked by JPerwin24 Apr 24, 2013 at 05:49 PM about the 2003 Audi A4 1.8T quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The small red fuel pump symbol located next to the fuel cap area on the instrument panel electronic car diagram is flashing and will not stop. This started after I drove off with the fuel cap off after filling up. I replaced the cap almost immediately after realizing my mistake but the condition persists after about 100 miles.

It should have canceled by now. It could be a bad seal on the cap. You could try disconnecting the negative battery cable to reboot the ECU.

I just noticed it was an Audi A4. Head over to AudiWorld.com and Audizine.com to see if the other owners know of any other reason for the flashing light.
