2004 Audi A8L 4.2L

Asked by pgatBoiGlen Jun 04, 2017 at 07:14 PM about the 2004 Audi A8 L quattro AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Lost my key fob so I use the actual keys for the car(
for about 3-4?months now) never had an issue. I
backed into my driveway one night and got out the
car locked it with the key and went to bed. The next
morning I got up to bring the kids to school and the
key unlocked the door I put it in the ignition to start
the car and I got nothing on the dash. No lights no
nothing. Battery is new but I hooked up my jump
packs thinking it was battery and still nothing. Now I
have no air in the system and it's gonna be a hassle
towing it to the dealer being AWD and in Jack
mode.

check thewire grounds on the main harness for corrosion as well as the battery posts. Is there any lights on in the car ? such as over head lights that work? if there is zero power i would say the battery is the culprit or a bad ground or dirty cable on the battery port. I would also check the fuses. Its not un comman for a new battery to do this it all depends on where you bought it. I never trust any where but my dealer for a new battery. its 147$ here in canada and they take your old one when you come in.
