Loss of oil

Vehicle eats oil.....no leaks visible. Consumes oil 3 quarts per 1500 miles. At
start up a big plume of blue smoke comes from the exhaust.Engine light
comes on and blinks most times and sometimes will stay solid then after a
couple of start ups the Engine light goes off.

2004 that eats oil, bet it has a boatload of miles on it.
