1999 GMC SIERRA 1500

I recently switched motors in my truck, I pulled the motor from my 1999 gmc sierra 1500 and dropped it into a 1998 gmc sierra 1500. The motor turns over but it wont ilde, what would cause this to happen? the motor was working fine before switching it over

I'm assuming that all the wires are on the right plugs, Does it rev up when it's running? I would check for a bad dist cap or rotor, the next thing is fuel, Might need to set the curb idle. Did you have the Distributor out ?
