Tranfer case problems

Asked by James Apr 16, 2018 at 07:52 PM about the 1997 GMC Sierra 1500 K1500 SL 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My transfer case is stuck in 4 wheel low. So watched some videos on removing the motor assembly from the transfer case. It then showed moving the shaft with a wrench to get it out of low but the shaft wont move right or left. HELP!!!

Did you put in neutral when trying that? Also moving the rear driveshaft back and forth slightly while trying to move the shaft may help. If you still can't move it them the transfer case may have an issue.
