What would cause to lose all elect power to go out.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck stalled when turning on to side street. Started it back up & pulled over. Stalled back out again, but this time it would not crank over. Lost all electric power including lights, radio etc. Checked term & batt wire's. & it started back up after 10 mins. Drove it back home {approx. 5 miles}. It still start's, but afraid to drive it if happen's again.   Any idea's ???   Thank's KT in NH

Ok, then that should be fine. I was just thinking if it was 4--5 years old, but you did check cables..Hmmmm... I think the next step is an OBD scan....eliminate guesswork and buying parts you don't need. Many parts houses will scan it free, but be careful, don't buy electrical parts that can't be returned. Bring the codes back here, and one of us will be happy to help from there. The parts guys want to sell you anything they can..and granted, some of them know what they're doing...but some know jack.
