Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 GMC K1500 that has 211,000 miles
on it. I will be going to training for the army til
November and I won’t know where I’ll be stationed.
I would like to keep my truck but it’s gonna be a
long drive. Probably around 15 hours. I need help in
getting some ideas on what to check, replace,
upgrade. Anything that you think might help at all is
awesome. I plan on eventually giving it a huge
makeover so nothing is stupid. Thank you.

I would do a complete fluid change - oil, transmission, differential, coolant etc. New filters, plugs, wires, cap and rotor etc. Check the brakes and tires and air them up. Clean and tighten the battery connections and replace the battery if it is weak.
