Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 GMC Sierra 1500 that just started to lose power and intermittently sputter for about 4 miles and then when put into park and shut down for about ten minutes would not start...it tried the first attemp to turn over then any attempts to turn stopped.

about 5000 miles ago i just had gotten the truck out of the shop for almost the same issue which was a loss of power i incorrectly diagnosed to a transmisson issue. the transmision shop end up replacing the spark plugs ,catalytic converter, and distributor cap. ran great for the last 5000 miles and now is seeming to show similar symptoms... thoughts from anyone?

Don't go to that transmission shop for one. Have you tried a new coil? I had a coil that would open when it got hot. Have you tried a new ignition module? I've had 2 go out, dying with your symptoms.
