remove and install distibutor on a 1994SLE 1500 GMC

Distributor won't go back in

Some times,when you remove distrbutor,s you have to seat it back,because of gear kog,you have to rotate rotor button into position,make sure you place it exactly same way as it was removed,rotor button in same spot,if you can,t do it then,you may need to bring number one cylinder up and check timing marks,and then set rotor button to number one .

Turn the distributor shaft slightly to the left and drop it in....this may take a few tries to perfect but it doesn't just drop in because the gears have to mesh so be patient and try a few more times....Note: if you pass by the mark you've turned it too far
