Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 1993 gmc 1500 pick up 4wd with a 4L60E transmission and my
transmission went out so i  found another 4L60E transmission out of a 1994
gmc yukon and put it in and now when i put it in drive or overdrive it only
goes about 28 mph and then when i give it more gas it just acts like it is in
neutral buy when i put it in  2nd it will get up to about 53 mph but wont go
any faster than that so i replaced the shifting solenoids and changed the filter
and there is nothing showing up in the pan like metal or anything and when i
changed the solenoids and filter the fluid smelled fine wasnt burnt or
anything smelled like new almost..... please help i dont what else it could
be...... i do have a  1995 4L60E is their anything i can switch on the it to
make it work in my 1993??

I think you messed up, the transmission you put in is not electronically compatible with the computer system in the vehicle. When replacing transmissions the numbers must match, otherwise they transmission will not work right if at all even though it will bolt up. You might try a transmission shop and see if they can reprogram your existing TCM to match the transmission shift points, or try to find a stand alone programmable transmission controller. Those are expensive if you can find one for your year and number of transmission.
