Truck shuts off once put into gear

I recently received my dads truck and I'm trying to
do some TLC on it. Runs great sounds amazing !
Throw it in drive and it shuts off if you don't keep
your foot on the gas. If you keep it in park it runs
like a charm. Then I turned on the defrost and it
shut off just as it did when you put it into gear. Any
helpful hints would be much appreciated

Both actually we let it run for a while yesterday and had to keep our foot on the gas to keep it going even after having our foot on the gas for a little it shut off

Ran it cold this morning went through all gears ran great once it seemed to warm up it started shutting off
