91 ranger

Asked by Just_a_normal_guy Sep 21, 2018 at 01:57 PM about the 1991 Ford Ranger STX Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced starter and got new battery, starter clicks
multiple times but wont start. Before swapping
parts, it lost power and died. Sat for 2 weeks
tested battery bad probably due to bad alternator.
New battery no start, new starter no start... any
info in this would be appreciated. It is a manual
transmission.

Thank you Ed92626 So the new starter came with a new solenoid, it has been replaced, are you speaking of the starter switch that is mounted on the side of the engine bay? Ive bridged it before the new starter and got the old one to click... im thinking... maybe the flywheel not catching the starter? Im bout ready to just scrap it and get a hundred bucks
