I have a 1991 ford ranger 2.9 I changed fuel flitter and fuel regulator I have 34 psi it will not start when it is cold unless u spray fuel in top of it then it will run has no power please help

Normal pressure for your truck,is 40 psi,fuel pressure may be low,and not opening the injector,s proper,check the fuel pump,
do you live near an auto store like within walking distance

No it is about 45 min driving time I also bypassed the shut off switch in the floor that thought was it
is the green cap that is under the hood screwed in weel that is a fuel pressure for the fuel filter when yyou change it
1991 Ford ranger does not have OBDII to scan
Fordnut, is correct this is old school,you have to count the blinking engine light,like morse code to figure it out.
You can take a paper clip,cross the ten pin with the ground in the computer harness hook up,long flash is 10 and short flash is 1,s,,the ten all ways, come,s first.
Backfiring is often an ignition timing issue.
Fordnut ,is correct ,back firing is a timing issue,if truck was running and then started running bad all of sudden,you may need to check the timing.
