Fuel leak

Asked by Darisn May 09, 2017 at 06:13 PM about the 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan C/V Cargo FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've been smelling fuel around the van
for 2 weeks. Checked the engine
compartment and found no leaks. Just
now checking under the van and I think
i found the problem. There is leakage
from the gas tank. Do I have to drop the
the tank to repair this?

no..you can loosen the 2 straps to get to the pump / filter...its all plastic...just did mimehose where it meets pump was leaking tried to check it and cracked the output plastic fitting more..so i replaced both..it call for a spanner wrench to loosen the plastice lock hold down for the pumm...but with a good grip it will turn off...
