Why does my 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan run out of gas when it says it has half tank of gas?

Sounds like this could be the fuel sending unit inside the tank. Not very often do the gauges themselves act up. If your a DIY You can drop the fuel tank remove the pump from the tank, Plug the fuel pump back in and manualy lift the float/level sensor arm and have somebody watch the gauge to see if the gauge makes its full sweep. Not too sure if you can buy the level sensor separtly or you might have to change the whole pump modual

Until you do this you can reset your trip on the odometer when you fill up and go almost what you would normaly get on a tank then fill up
