Computer?

Asked by HandyAndys Jul 15, 2016 at 02:04 AM about the 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan ES FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

97 catavan. 3.3 engine. Took in for smog
and after 2 weeks shop asked me to call tow
truck to retrieve vehicle. Their computer
didnt get any reading to start out with. But
found loose connection.  They replace two
sensors bills of $500 and it doesn't run. I
suggested it might be the computer. But I'm
sure why it doesn't run now

I feel your pain, but to diagnose any problem requires seeing the car in question. Older cars that start having a lot of problems quickly turn into money pits, especially if you let a shop start throwing parts at it hoping they'll get lucky. You might have a problem with a computer or with a wiring harness or connector or...? Electrical problems are the worst ones.

Have the the vehicle scanned with a DBRIII scan tool call around this is quick and easy. $100 to diagnose the exact issue.
