Hi Guy....... ......it has been my discovery that 99.9 percent of the time the grinding noise is coming from a failed THROW OUT BEARING, and possibly a failed clutch pressure plate as well. Yank the tranny, and pull the pressure plate, inspect, replace throw out bearing.
