'05 pt cruiser Chrysler has oil lesk, and now stalling

Asked by WjdInkspill Nov 17, 2023 at 02:16 PM about the 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My pt cruiser is a 2005 Chrysler, manual
transmission, and has been leaking oil
pretty bad last few weeks . . . .it now is
losing power in higher gears when on a
hill, and stalls when slowing down often
tumes . . . .it sounds like its not hitting
right when its idling which only just
began along with the constant stalling
when decelerating and the check engine
light is now on, all of which began
yesterday (prior to this i was simply
leaking oil pretty heavily).....any ideas?

Any ideas? Yes... You're an idiot! You see significant oil loss in a twenty year old car and do nothing about it. You have engine problems, and the only thing you can think of doing is asking someone online to diagnose the problems. You should have gotten that car to a mechanic the minute you discovered the oil problem, which might not have been a real problem at first, but now with all that neglect, you've gotten to the point where there are misfires and you've likely destroyed the catalytic converter and brought repair costs to double the value of the car..... Sell the car to a salvage yard and take the bus from now on. You don't deserve to own another car.
