2004 chrysler pt cruiser overheating

Asked by James Apr 08, 2019 at 03:36 PM about the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car has 103k miles on it. New water pump new
timing belt new thermostat and new coolant temp
sensor. I did have a leave and used a stop leak but
that was fixed with waterpump replacement. But
when I am sitting for to long or in stop and go
traffic it overheats still. I have the universal coolant
in it but heard I HAVE to use dextran. Any advice
would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. I did all the regular stuff too and it wasn't cheap. It ended up being a miniscule hole in the radiator. but I didn't figure that out until it got bad enough to form a puddle where I parked.
