Noise when accelerating

Asked by sailor54 Mar 10, 2016 at 11:16 PM about the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Wagon FWD

Question type: General

When accelerating I get a fast deep whirring noise. When I resume steady
speed it stops. I am also getting a bit of rough idle. I changed plugs out but it
does the same. It idles at about 650-700 rpm. Any ideas?

I changed the both belts and the alternator, I get a loud squeak when I press the gas pedal belts are fine alternator working good .
