In my opinion, there is no way to make any engine with less than 6 cylinders sound "tough" except on ATV's, dirt bikes, or snowmobiles. But anyway, if you're looking to upgrade the exhaust a header and cat-back exhaust would do the trick. Please, don't use a fart can or huge exhaust tip.
