what does a salvage title subtract from the value of a car

From what Ive seen 40 to 50% of the cars regular retail value is lost when the title reads salvage.

In most cases, it makes the car worthless... no bank/finance company will fund a loan, so you'll need to find a cash buyer... and even then, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who will give you more than 25 cents on the dollar...
