Friggin hot, are you running a twin turbo setup? You can always check with an infrared temp gun, I use one to see which cylinder is hotter if any.

I understand all of the ways one can tune, including A/F. I just want to compare my egt with the normal.

Well if you wanna be accurate, makes a difference if you have a h pipe, x pipe,or cat setup, long tube, short tube headers, ceramic, or stainless, and what mufflers you have. If you say everyone is giving up so easy then what is it? Easiest way to check for performance problems is a infrared temperature gun to check every cylinder at warm idle. And yes 1" from the header.

Thanks for your answer Chris. My idle is 900 F. What I am trying to find out is the normal operating range ie 900-1400. I know someone knows, but haven't found them yet. My temp is around 1300 and climbing around 2500 rpm with no load and running closed loop.
