Why does front drive shaft stay engaged in 2 wheel drive?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed transfer case shift motor and rebuilt transfer case. All switches
work...4wd high and 4wd low seem to engage and disengage. I'm really
stumped. Im thinking maybe the electro magnet in the t-case may be shot.
