05 ford Taurus car the fan motor doesn't come on so it overheats if left idling what to check

Turn the AC on and see if the fan kicks on. If not check the fuse. If that's okay, check the temp sensor. (you can do that by shorting the wires to the sensor together, the fan should kick on).
