What did my car shut off while I was driving?

I was driving my 2005 ford taurus with my a/c on and stop at a light for about 30 seconds
and then when i was making my left turn car just shut off. I pulled to the side of the road
and put the car in park and shut off my a/c then started the car again and it started with
no problem. Why did it do that?

Check your alternator and battery, and have the engine cooling system checked.
