I tried to program a FOB to my 2005 Ford Taurus but everytime I turn 8 times the locks dont respond. Is the program broken on the car?

On my 1999 F350 it only took 5 turns. So who knows what the correct number is. However, the correct way to do it on my F350 was to turn the key from OFF to the accessory position an have the door locks in the up position than listen for them to lock. I hope this helps.
